Blogging Woolf

Sighting Virginia Woolf on the Web is a popular pastime. My evidence? The fact that in the past few days, readers of Blogging Woolf and my Facebook friends have sent in a number of Woolf sightings.

Here they are:

• Blogging Woolf contributor Alice Lowe sent a link to her latest published essay,  “Cornish Pasty,” which was published in the fall 2012 issue of Phoebe Journal. It records her last trip to England, in 2006, and is the final piece in a trilogy of essays about her Virginia Woolf pilgrimage. Another is “Elvis Standing By” in the April/May 2011 issue of Eclectica magazine.
• You can also find a collection of Lowe’s essays that mention Woolf under the category “Virginia Woolf” on her personal blog, Alice Lowe blogs … about writing & reading & all things Woolfian..
• “Famous Writers’ Retreats: The Rooms Where Classics Were Created,” on the Huffington Post UKincludes Woolf’s Lodge at Monk’s House, Sussex. It is slide number 15 out of 19. Posted by my Facebook friend Margaret Garmon.

• “Matters of Taste,” a June 7 post on Jane Brocket’s blog, discusses the Alexandra Harris biography of Woolf. Sent by Blogging Woolf reader Gina A. Cummins.
• Jezebel.com has an article about the British fiction award, The Orange Prize, titled, “No Boys Allowed: Let the Ladies Have Our Own Book Awards” in which the author mentions Woolf. Contributed by Kaylee Baucom, professor of English at the College of Southern Nevada.
• Dr. Roy Johnson of Mantex contributed a link to his new study guide for Jacob’s Room that is now posted on the Mantex website.
• Marek Brzezinski posted photos of a May 25 event, Woolf Slam, held in Poland. You can find links to his photos on the Virginia Woolf Facebook page.
